Tailored Dog Training offers personalized training in the form of client coaching sessions, pre-puppy consults, and email or video consults. We use modern, scientifically proven training.

Private training sessions can take place at your residence, at a favorite outdoor public spot, or at our training facility in Concord.

Initial Consult

Dog behavior consult for aggression, fear, reactivity, puppy training, basic obedience.

Our private training starts with an initial consultation in which a trainer will meet with you either at your home or at one of our training facilities, go over your training goals in more detail, observe and assess behaviors, and get started on training.

After the consultation, you’ll receive written notes, as well as a follow up support email with helpful information relevant to your training plan.

If you wish to have the session at your home, please be sure to select a trainer whose service area includes your city. If there are no trainers available for your city, we offer initial consultations at our Concord training facility.

Common Problems Addressed:

  • Puppy behaviors: nipping, crate training, potty training, jumping, basic cues.

  • Teenager/Adult behaviors: pulling on leash, manners with visitors, minor dog reactivity, minor resource guarding, poor recall, counter surfing, basic obedience.

  • Miscellaneous: new baby, child-dog introductions, dog-to-dog intros, severe dog reactivity, shyness, handling. For these specific activities, please email us directly so that we can match you with the trainer best suited for your needs.

  • Service dog training: Please email first so we can assess your dog’s current training and match you with one of our service dog trainers.

  • Aggression towards humans (including dogs with bite histories): Please email first so we can match you with the correct trainer and schedule an initial Zoom call if needed.

  • At this time we do not address separation anxiety. If you aren’t sure if your dog has true separation anxiety, please email us. For help with separation anxiety, please see our Referrals page.

Private Training Sessions

Private Session Packages

One hour training sessions working with your dog and us, learning how to train and communicate with your dog! You must do an Initial Consult first.

Dog training for jumping up, pulling on leash, dog reactivity, new baby, basic obedience, greeting people, poor recall or resource guarding in the East Bay.

  • Lessons are conducted either at our training facility in Concord or outdoors in your yard or a neighborhood. Zoom training is also available so that the whole family can participate!

  • These sessions include email support with videos of what we covered.
